Biography

Ramón Hopman is a comedian, actor and creative. His career began when his father took him to the Circus when he was 4 years of age. He dreamed of performing and from that moment, knew that he wanted to be a clown. 

Circuscarriére:

After many years of hard work, he gradually built a successful career, gaining a year's contract at the famous Swiss circus Knie and learned the most important skill that he still uses in his acting: Visual Comedy. Together with his former stage partner (Olivier Taquin), he also won a 'Bronze Clown' at the International Circus Festival of Monte Carlo in 2007.

Next step:

From here Ramón decided to take all that he had learned in the Circus and move into acting and comedy. He has had small roles in short films in the Netherlands and also in a television series. In 2009 Ramón performed next to the famous German comedienne Marlene Jascke in the shortfilm ' TRUE LOVE'  This movie (written and directed by Konstantin Wübbe) won the award 'Diplom for excellent Cinematography' at the COMEDY CLUJ International Film Festival in Romania. Ramón has also worked in stage productions at large variety theatres in Germany and the Netherlands. In 2010 he brought all of his experience and skills together and created a theatre production with the clown, Kotini JR and the director, Maxim Bauer from Switzerland. This was a mix of modern variety, visual comedy and theatre - together with innovative use of projected backdrops.

Creative team:

In 2009, Ramón joined two British writers to form a comedy writing & production team (Cleverclogz Productions ) Together, they develop and produce various concepts for the Internet and television. Their first joint project was the production of the comedy video clip, 'Twitterrap'. In the spring of 2010, Ramón performed twice weekly in a comedy sketch for a radio show in the USA ( written by Cleverclogz Productions ) and he was the 'comedy host' at the 'Fry’s Gig' in London, a charity event raising funds for Mind, the leading mental health charity in England and Wales.

In March 2011, Cleverclogz created a Twitter version of the BBC Red Nose Day charity fundraising event - ‘Red Tweet Day’, producing comedy videos featuring Ramón playing a range of characters together with major British television broadcaster, ITV. Their work was highly praised by BBC Red Nose Day director, Emma Freud.The team are currently working on a number of corporate projects as well as two television comedy series.
